MEMBERSHIP

Membership to the Discoveries Club is free. Membership is available to individuals, families and organisations.

Joining the Discoveries Club
When joining Discoveries Club you must provide your correct name, address and contact details. Using a false name, address or contact details may be considered fraudulent. 

By joining the Discoveries Club, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any amendments as published.

By joining the Discoveries Club you agree to receiving e-mail communications from which you can subscribe at any time.

Cancelling your Membership
You may cancel your Discoveries Club Membership at any stage and for any reason.

Nature Discoveries also reserves the right to cancel your Membership without notice for any reason, including if you:

• fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
• supply any misleading information or make misrepresentations to Nature Discoveries.
• abuse any privilege normally accorded to members.
• inactivity on your account for a period greater than 12 months.

Membership activity includes making a purchase, redeeming Reward Dollars, participating in promotions and competitions, maintaining your Gift List or Dream Gift and loading cash balances onto your account.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Your Privacy
While Nature Discoveries will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information remains confidential to Nature Discoveries and is not disclosed to any outside party, Nature Discoveries does not accept any liability or responsibility should you personal information get into the public domain through any fault of Nature Discoveries or through the fraudulent activity of a third party.

In the event of promotional activities and competitions, Nature Discoveries reserves the right to publish the names, images and photographs of prize winners and/or participating charities or businesses, without compensation. Prize winners agree to make themselves reasonably available for photographs.  All materials including photographs and including any artistic renderings or written materials submitted as entry to any competition becomes the intellectual property of Nature Discoveries and may be used for further promotion or advertising in its original form or modified as required by Nature Discoveries without any recourse to the author or creator of the material.

When submitting any material for a competition, you must submit your own personal work and may not present fraudulent or plagiaristic work.

Maintaining and updating your Personal Information
Members accept full responsibility to ensure that their own information including physical address and any contact details are maintained to be correct and current.

Nature Discoveries does not accept responsibility for loss of compensation of any kind resulting from any errors made by Nature Discoveries or as a result of incorrect information being supplied by members or member supporters.

DISCOVERIES CLUB CARD AND GIFT CARDS

The Discoveries Club Card may be used both as a Gift Card and as a Membership Club Card.

Gift Dollars may be loaded onto any Gift Card in one dollar units from $1.00 upwards.

Once Gift Dollars have been purchased, they have no financial value and may only be used as a redemption towards the purchase of Nature Discoveries products.

All Discoveries Club Cards should be registered to you. You may hold as many cards as you like, and any card may be used to identify your membership details in-store.

All Gift Dollars that were purchased with a Discoveries Club Card will be transferred to a member’s total Gift Dollar balance once the card is registered to the member. The member then has access to all their Gift Dollars and Reward Dollars using any Discoveries Club Card together with suitable personal identification such as a student card, passport, drivers licence, credit card or third party who can vouch for you using their identification. 

GIFT LISTS AND DREAM GIFTS

Discoveries Club members may create and maintain Gift Lists and/or identify a Dream Gift.

Anyone may access your Dream Gift or Gift List either in-store or on-line by means of accurately providing at least two of the following pieces of information:

• Your Membership Number
• Your given and/or family name
• Your e-mail address
• Your mobile phone number
• Your physical address (street name and number)

You may print and post or email your gift list or dream gift to anyone. 

You may change your Gift List or Dream Gift on-line or in-store at any stage.

People who contribute towards your Dream Gift or purchase an item off your Gift List may choose to remain anonymous. 

Once a gift has been purchased from your gift list, it will be identified as no longer being requested.

All items are available while stocks last only. Nature Discoveries does not guarantee that any item specified on your Gift List or as your Dream Gift will be available at any future point in time.  However, Nature Discoveries will make reasonable effort to source your preferred product for you from our suppliers. 

ITEMS PURCHASED ON-LINE

All items purchased on-line can be picked up in-store (if available) or couriered to anywhere in New Zealand for the fixed standard courier charge.

Items cannot be sent out of New Zealand. 

RETURNS POLICY

In order to return any item, a till slip or completed gift return card must be presented with the item.

You may return any gift purchased within 30 days of the original purchase date and exchange it for the value of the product, less any reward points earned on purchase, as a credit to your Discoveries Club account balance as long as the item is returned in its original packaging and in a new condition that is saleable.

All shipping charges are non refundable.

LAY BUY

If you would like to ensure that an item is kept aside for you, be sure to place the item on Lay Buy.

To place an item on Lay Buy, the value of the item or group of items must be greater than $20.00 and a non-refundable deposit of 20% or greater must be placed on the item.  Regular payments (weekly or fortnightly) must then be received to pay the item off within 12 weeks.

COLLECTING REWARD POINTS AND REWARD DOLLARS

Discoveries Club Reward points will be recorded and accrued to members when:

• Purchasing qualifying Goods or Services from participating Nature Discoveries stores and from www.nature.co.nz, and
• A member has notified Nature Discoveries of their Membership Number at the time of sale and before the transaction is concluded.

As a Discoveries Club Member, you will automatically qualify as a Silver Class Member and as such will be eligible to collect Reward Points at a rate of 10% of the sale value of qualifying Goods and Services.  Collect 10 points within 365 days, and these points will automatically be converted to 10 Reward Dollars.

Collect at least 50 Reward Dollars within 365 days, and you will qualify as a Gold Class Member and you will be eligible to collect Reward Points at a rate of 12.5% of the sale value of qualifying Goods and Services.

Collect at least 200 Reward Dollars within 365 days, and you will qualify as a Platinum Class Member and you will be eligible to collect Reward Points at a rate of 15% of the sale value of qualifying Goods and Services.

Every 10 Reward Points that are collected within the past 365 days will automatically be converted to Reward Dollars once a day after midnight and before 6:00 am.

Membership Class status is calculated after midnight and before 6:00 am everyday and new membership class will be applied by 6:00am.
The maximum number of Reward Points that can be collected in any single sales transaction is 60 Reward Points.

Nature Discoveries reserves the right to change the definition of qualifying goods and services, the rate at which reward points may be collected, the level at which Reward Points are converted to Reward Dollars and the maximum number of Reward Points that can be collected within any transaction at any time and without notice to members. 

The following transactions do not qualify for Reward Points:

• Redeemed Reward Dollars,
• Redeemed Gift Dollars.

The current definitions are as published on-line in these terms and conditions.  We recommend that members review these Terms and Conditions on a regular basis.

Should products be returned for credit, or Credit Card transactions reversed, Nature Discoveries reserves the right to reverse the reward points and Reward Dollars that resulted from this transaction or to deduct appropriate reward dollars off the credit.

All Reward Points will expire 365 days after collection. 

All Reward Dollars and any Gift Dollars will expire after inactivity has been detected on the members account for more than 365 days.

All Reward Points, Reward Dollars and Gift Dollars will be expired immediately upon cancellation of membership, whether this is done by the member or by Nature Discoveries.

You are not authorised to cancel the membership of any third party. 

REDEEMING REWARD OR GIFT DOLLARS
Reward Dollars or Gift Dollars have no financial value and cannot be sold or redeemed for cash.

Reward Dollars or Gift Dollars may be redeemed in equivalent New Zealand Dollars as an effective discount against the published price of any Good provided by Nature Discoveries. 

Suitable secondary identification will be required before Reward Dollars or Gift Dollars may be redeemed against any purchase.

SALES
Products on sale may be excluded from collecting Reward Points.

PROMOTIONS
Selected promotional products may qualify for additional Reward Points on an ad-hoc basis. 

DRAWS AND COMPETITIONS
Nature Discoveries staff and close relatives may not enter draws and competitions.

Judges decisions and draws are final and no discussion will be entered into.

CHARITIES AND FUND RAISING ORGANISATIONS
Organisations wishing to register with Nature Discoveries as a Charity or Fund Raising organisation may do so in writing to:

In your submission, please specify clearly the objectives of the organization and the purpose of its fund raising activities. 

Nature Discoveries reserves the right to accept or reject any charity or fund raising organisation at their own discretion without reason.  No further discussion will be entered into.

GENERAL
Changes to Terms and Conditions
Nature Discoveries reserves the right to change and of these terms and conditions at anytime and without notice to members. 

Loss, theft, damage or fraudulent use of your Discoveries Club Card
Nature Discoveries does not accept responsibility for any loss of gift cards or any fraudulent use of your Discoveries Club Gift Card. 

Report the loss or theft of your Discoveries Club Gift Card as soon possible by quoting your card number to a store member of staff or by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by free phone on 0800NATURE (0800 628 873).

Any remaining Gift or Reward Dollars associated with the card will be stopped and use of that Discoveries Club Gift Card will become null and void.
